There can be no question that the ladies in blue are as prepared as they can be and rearing to go as the climax of the Division 2 season approaches. After another win on away territory in the weekend, 3-1 over Papatoetoe, the Waiuku women are eager to face their rivals, Onehunga in less than a week's time.

After a thoroughly-earned 1-0 victory over the second of Western Springs' two teams in Division 2, the Waiuku women have finally assumed their place at the top of the table.

Waiuku took on Mangere at the fortress Massey Park on Saturday with their home unbeaten record proudly in check. However that was all changed by a resurgent Mangere who have signed new players to try and keep the team from being relegated into the Auckland federations. The Franklin derby took place on Saturday at Bledisloe Park with both teams looking for a win for different reasons. Pukekohe are well and truly due a win and Waiuku wanted to bounce back from last weeks defeat to Mt Albert. The game could of gone either way as the lead was taken by Waiuku and then taken back by Pukekohe only for Waiuku to finish strong. Read more.....

The ladies in blue are still sitting pretty in second-place-equal on points, after a 3-1 win over Bay Olympic, at Olympic Park on Sunday. The victory was achieved, all the more impressively, amidst a spell of injury and sickness in the Waiuku side.

Waiuku were knocked out of the Chatham Cup by Premier team Papatoetoe on Queens Birthday Monday however it was closer than the result showed. Waiuku took this as an opportunity to compare themselves with the division above as they strive to try and claim the second place in the league which will give them an opportunity to get promoted. Waiuku travelled to Cambridge on a very cold, wet and windy Saturday afternoon knowing that three points may put them into second place of the table. The month of May presented a miserable sequence of defaulted matches and byes for the Waiuku Women’s Premiers. But finally after three consecutive soccerless weekends, the ladies have picked up where they left off, taking out a 5-3 win over Ellerslie.
