PREMIER RESERVES

Waiuku Premier Reserves took on Western Springs at the Fortress on Saturday. All started well for the Blues with plenty of early possesion giving the guys goal scoring opportunities only to be denied by the Spring's defence & as in the past the opposition attacked & a cross ball taking a deflection saw the Blues go a goal down against the run of play. It wasn't long before Caine Robbie had the score level again. Even though the Blues dominated with great passing Football they could not manage to score again & with another rebound deflection found themselves 2.1. down at the break.
Second half started with good interpassing Football once more & looked like they could take the game but another of the Spring's attacks found they were 3.1 down. Waiuku picked themselves up & pressed on to create a goal in the 79th minute when Ken Nicoll's shot took a deflection beating Spring's keeper. The Blues were back in the game unfortunitely they couldn't find the equalizer. Despite the result Waiuku played attractive Football & created many chances. Man of the match went to Owen Hill.
