What a great start again after all the rain the last three weekends. Its been hard for the boys to keep on the drive that they need to win the champonship with no games and not a lot of training, but despite this little setback they went up against Papakura Rangers on the weekend of the 9th and started very slowly, the lack of play time showed, also for Papakura who tried hard to break the wekas line, some good defending and creative attacking saw the Wekas take the lead 15 minutes into the game, a great goal by Alan Turoa Barnett , and it was to be the score at the half time whistle,The second half was a different game with the boys attacking from the kick off and soon scored through a great attack down the flanks by Simon Peat and greatly supported by Greg Jamieson. Simon put it away nice;y and this spurred on the boys to score two more great goals by Ben Buchanan who was awarded player of the day. This is the score the team wanted and only a couple more games to go and they will take the title, A great game also by the keeper Callum Senior who saved a few goals with some great keeping, also Nathan Hyde played well as well as Jacob Waldegrave who is a great player every week .
