The month of May presented a miserable sequence of defaulted matches and byes for the Waiuku Women’s Premiers. But finally after three consecutive soccerless weekends, the ladies have picked up where they left off, taking out a 5-3 win over Ellerslie.

Waiuku took on second placed Onehunga Mangere on Saturday looking to extend their unbeaten run. In a game which saw two very attacking teams in the league go head to head, Waiuku came out the other end with all three points winning the game 2-0. Read more...

Waiuku took on Waikato/Bay of Plenty division team Te Awamutu in their first New Zealand wide knockout game called the Chatham Cup. Waiuku didn't have it all their own way however even though Te Awamutu play in a division below as they went 2-0 down within 15 minutes only to run riot in the second half and take the game 5-2. Waiuku took on the top of the table Fencibles team keen to keep their home unbeaten run in tact. Fencibles, who represent the Howick Pakuranga area, let the rest of the competition catch up with them with a lost to Ngarawahia last week while Waiuku were full of confidence with a good win against Papakura. Waiuku got their season back on track in a hard fought game against local rivals Papakura at McLennan Park. For the first time all season Waiuku had the option of a full strength side as most players put their recent injuries aside, the rest took pain-killers to keep them going. Read more....
