Waiuku Premier Reserves played Fencibles at Massey Park in front of a large home crowd. The game started with great intensity with both sides looking to take the 3 points for a win.

Waiuku settled fairly quickly playing some lovely possession football. The 1st goal came in the 11Th min from striker Johnny Whittaker. This fired the team up even more & in the 27th min midfielder Joe Rayson went one on one with the keeper & calmly placed the ball into the top right hand corner.

The game settled for a spell & just before the halftime whistle Matty Whittaker received a ball from Keeper Phil Van Den Broek, beat a couple of players & managing to stay on his feet after a clumsy challenge went one on one with the keeper to slot it home. 3 nil at the half.

The 2nd half saw Fencibles come out putting pressure on Waiuku's defence which lead to their 1st goal in the 15th min. This sort of settled Waiuku again & both teams were creating opportunities but Waiuku could not capitalize on these chances but Fencibles did  & in the 30th min scored again. This seamed to rattle the home side & caused a defencive error resulting in the equalising goal.

Waiuku pressed on but could not find the winning goal. Right back Ken Nicoll took man of the match honours for his fine effort.
