Double hat trick for Premier Reserves
By Annie & Pete Van Den Broek @ 4:27 p.m. :: 226 Views :: 2 Comments :: :: Senior Mens

Waiuku's game against Onehunga Sport only took a mere 3 minutes for Jesse Smyth-Kirk to open the scoring after running onto a precise through ball from the midfield catching the opposition defence quite square.

This resulted in Onehunga being more defencive & kept the Blues attackers out until the 14th minute when Cody Ralph got on the score sheet for his 1st goal of the season. Waiuku pressed on & created numerous chances but were spoiled by Onehunga's defence & keeper. At the break the blues were 2 nil up.

The start of the second half saw Smyth-Kirk score within 30 seconds & set the team into a goal scoring mood. Opportunities came from some good hard runs from Matty Whittaker & Ralph with quality through balls from midfield where Nick Ruygrok & Joe Rayson controlled & dominated the pitch.

With most of the possession the flood gates opened & goals came from Smyth-Kirk (hat trick 56th min) Johnny Whittaker (60th min) Ralph (62nd min) Ruygrok(31st min) & Ralph (hat trick 82nd min) finishing with an 8 nil defeat over Onehunga Sport.

Coach Peter Van Den Broek was pleased with the defence for keeping a clean sheet & a good team effort all round the park. Well done guys. Man of the match honours go to Smyth-Kirk.
