Premier Reserves 1st loss
By Annette Van Den Broek @ 4:33 p.m. :: 184 Views :: 0 Comments :: :: Senior Mens

Saturdays game for Waiuku Premier Reserves was against a highly spirited and determined Ellerslie side. The game started on a soft spongy pitch and from the outset Waiuku seemed to be on the back foot. The touches & bounce of the ball did not fall their way. Which is why in the early stages of the game they were 1 nil down. This seemed to spur the blues into playing a bit better football but could not break through Ellerslie's defence. Strikers Johnny Whittaker & Mitch Lee continued to press but to no avail.
Second half saw Waiuku come out & started to dominate in patches & looked like equalizing mid way into the half but it wasn't meant to be when shortly after Ellerslie capitalized again which made it a lot harder for Waiuku to come back from. Fair dues thou Waiuku kept pressing & did not give up until the final whistle. Well done Boys & will look forward to next weeks challenge. Man of the match Johnny Whittaker
