PREMIER RESERVES

Waiuku travelled to Fencibles ground on the weekend to see if they could turn the result around from the last encounter. The Blues started a bit shakey as a few regular players were unavailable due to other committements which meant the team had to reshape once again into a reasonable unit. They were just trying to settle into the game when a dubious penalty was awarded against them in the 5th min of play. This rattled the players slightly but it brought them back to life to play some great passing football but due to the condition of the pitch the ball control was not as good only providing a few opportunities in the first half.
The second spell Waiuku came out to dominate once more where there were more chances to equalize but they were fissed out by the Fencibles keeper who was having one of His better games. As for the Blues they pressed on forcing Fencibles to make more mistakes but unfortunately they could not compensate on this. Odds are the team that does press to try & score & pushes numbers up force errors in the defence & this resulted in Fencibles scoring in the 89th min to take the game 2 nil. At this level the team that is consistant can do well & win games. Man of the match went to Caine Robbie having a solid game in defence. Well done Guys.
