3RD WOMENS TEAM
By Annette Van Den Broek @ 4:31 p.m. :: 163 Views :: 0 Comments :: :: Senior Womens

After 2 weeks of no football due to postponements the Waiuku Ladies were keen to have a game. The Blues travelled to Clendon United without their 2 main strikers. One is away overseas while the other was out due to a Bereavement (Our thoughts are with you). The team did extremely well pressuring the Clendon defence at times. Due to an obvious offside not picked up by the linesman or Referee we went 1 nil down. Late in the half Clendon were awarded a penalty for hand ball but due to one of their players running in before the ball was kicked it was disallowed & was retaken but thanks to our keeper the second attempt was saved.
Start of the second half & the Girls kept battling on with a couple of chances to equalize but it wasn't to be & just on the stroke of full time Clendon got one more. We were very happy with the performance as they are the league leaders. Final score 2 nil. Next week We are at home against Pukekohe & if We get the 3 points We will finish 3rd in the competition.
