PREMIER RESERVES

Waiuku took on Mt Albert Ponsonby (MAP) at Anderson Park this week & the Blues started with 8 players & start well they did. In the 12th min Nick Ruygrok opened with a very well taken goal to put the Blues ahead. MAP came back & pressed & the Blues had to call on keeper Phil Van Den Broek to make some fine saves. After 20 mins the Blues finally got their full amount of players on the park & they played some really nice football but once again could not compensate on their efforts. MAP were pressing & caused a few scary moments which saw the Blues defending their lead but still going into the break a goal up.

The start of the second half saw MAP press hard & begin to question the Blues defence but they held strong. Prawet Waenthongkhasi (Vet) had a one on one only to be cleaned up by the keeper (should have been a goal). The Blues were starting to feel the disadvantage of the first 20mins as MAP started to attack numerous amounts of times but all credit to the guys they stood strong & repelled all attacks MAP could muster leaving Waiuku 1 nil winners in a well deserved game. Man of the Match Caine Robbie.
