Junior Registration Nights

These are generally held in the first couple of weeks in February. Please keep an eye out in the Waiuku Post, or refer back to the website for any announcements about registration times.

Waiuku Primary Schools Competition (5-7)

If your child is 5-7 years old, it is most likely that they will be able to register with a team from their own Primary School. Waiuku AFC provides much of the co-ordination and coaching for teams in this competition.

Junior Competition (8-10)

From 8-10 years old, your child would be considered a Junior Player, and can register with an age-group team for the Waiuku club. The team will be part of the Auckland Football competition and will generally play against other teams from around Franklin and South Auckland.

Youth Competition (11-17)

From 11-17 years old, your child would be considered a Youth Player. As with the Junior players they can register with an age-group team for the Waiuku club. The team will again be part of the Auckland Football competition and may play teams from Franklin, South Auckland and some of the Auckland Suburbs.

Grading

 

The grade your child will play in is based on the age they turn during in 2008.  So if your child turns 9 in 2008, then they will play 9th Grade. There are occasional exceptions made by dispensation. In some of the youth grades, a preliminary grading exercise will be undertaken to ensure young players with competitive aspirations get the opportunity to play in the highest divisions available.
