Waiuku bowed out at the Massey Park fortress with a good win over Mt Albert. Waiuku were nearly full strength apart from Brett Zinzan who was in hospital looking after his brand new born baby who was having complications. For Brett, Waiuku went out in search of three points. Waiuku faced Ellerslie for the second time in three days on Tuesday night, after going down 3-0 on Saturday at Michaels Ave. The game on Saturday was a lot closer then the scoreline suggested but again Waiuku were guilty of letting some soft goals in and not taking their chances. The Tuesday night game was again the same sort of story but this time the scoreline was a lot closer. Read more....

Waiuku reserves make the Counties Cup final

Waiuku made the Counties Cup final when they beat Mangere Town in a thrilling penalty shoot out at Massey Park on Sunday. The Waiuku reserves team play in the Auckland competition in Div 2 and on their way to the final they have beaten both Manurewa and Mangere who play in the premier reserve competition which is five divisions above the league they play in. Waiuku hosted Cambridge on Saturday and the two teams produced a very entertaining game of football with both sides having the opportunity to take the three points. Waiuku welcomed back Danny Baldwin and Grant Muckle while the third Baldwin brother arrived early on Saturday morning from Vancouver to start up front. Read more.....
